| About Us We are from the central area, but now from the desert southwest. We were told to move me to a dry area, we planned on it about 4 yrs after we were told this . We moved here about 2 months after we were told by the doctor as I have failing health. My husband went to the doctor for his physical and was told he could not drive anymore (truck) do to his falling asleep( disorder). When he came home he just looked at me and said pack -well I thought we were going to see the kids, He said no and told me that we might as well, start over where it was better for both of us . I sure was surprised!!!! Well we now have a small amount of land and we are raising goats , chickens ,ducks, even have a donkey now. Its quite a life, and I am enjoying it to "A LOT!!!" I get to watch the animals out our kitchen window and sometimes I laugh my head off at them. They can do silly things at times ,like goats riding on the back of our donkey-running and play ,jumping up on tops of barrels , its a wonder to see. All of Our children live a good distance from us ,but, we either hear or see them , so that helps. They are into home-steading also (some things) they just don't realize thats(homesteading) is what they are doing. We are very proud of All of them!! I am a Herbalist- have certificates in Systematic Approach-Herbalism and Native American Herbs and Medicine Practices. Also a certificate of Mastery in Reiki and Seichim. Tony ( husband) was raised on a farm and knows a lot about Homesteading= self-sufficient,Traditional ideas. He also know a lot about herbs as he has sat with me many -many hours as I studied . He would quiz me also for my final written exams. We are both adore books and collect them to extremes, our home is full, now we have to store in our extra buildings. We collect recipes (food- cleaning- old ways and new ones), From America- to you name it. Some of our books are so old that in recipes they say "add a $.05 jar of cherries". Old time herbal and new herbal . Old ways of doing things and new ways. We are both in our LATE 50's, we figure it is never to late to learn and do. Hope this info helps you get started. "ENJOY" Tony & Joyce |
